David is the founder and Managing Partner of Element Partners, a leading cleantech venture firm dedicated to investments in environmental efficiency and the ?economics of scarcity.? With more than 15 years of venture capital experience, David has been a prominent investor in energy and other clean technology companies for over 22 years and, as a founder of two leading funds in the space, is considered one of the pioneers of cleantech investing.

Prior to forming Element Partners in 2004, David co-founded and was a Managing Director of EnerTech Capital Partners, a $290 million series of funds focused on energy, communications and clean technologies. Previously, David founded and served as President and CEO of Deven Resources, Inc., a private firm dedicated to the acquisition and development of energy properties, and from 1984 to 1991, was a partner with a Philadelphia-based private equity and financial services firm. David began his career with UGI Corporation, a diversified utility holding company where he was engaged in a number of roles with both the regulated and unregulated energy divisions.

David holds a BA with honors in Geology from Colgate University and a MS in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. David?s current and past boards include Capstone Turbine (CPST), Comverge (COMV), Intellon (ITLN), Advent Solar, Wasatch Wind, Think Global, and DynaPump Inc. to name a few.
