Suraj is the co-founder and managing partner of DoubleRock. He has over ten years of management, investment and M&A experience in Silicon Valley, China and India.
He was previously the Managing Director of the Global Entrepreneurs Network Organization (GENO), an entrepreneur organization with over 37 franchises worldwide. As head of sales and marketing, he grew GENO's footprint to over 23 countries and led product expansion into new areas such as enterprise pricing and enterprise incentive management. He has advised on mergers and acquisitions in multiple industries including IT, financial services, real estate, and construction.
In 2008, Suraj was headhunted to Citi's emerging markets private equity unit before its sale to Rohatyn Group in 2012. In 2009, Suraj led a consortium to acquire a substantial stake in one of India's leading digital media studios. Due to Suraj's diverse international network, he has brokered many cross-border deals including acquisition and reverse takeover deals.
Suraj has accumulated invaluable experience in the online media and Internet sectors both in Silicon Valley and in the Greater China region. He has advised and consulted with many top-tier entrepreneurs and CEOs alike. In this capacity, he has advised media companies in corporate finance activities and related strategic matters. Suraj is an involved investor encouraging a culture of value-added expertise and resources for and between companies within the DoubleRock portfolio. The DoubleRock deal team possesses operational and financial expertise drawn from a broad range of industries and sectors. In the last 3 years, Suraj has been consulted on raising capital for many investment firms' partnerships including funds and co-investments. He has been actively involved in product development, fund formation and marketing strategy for these partnerships. He has also been invited to many conferences and workshops to share his views on strategic and value-add investing.
