Managing Partner, Learning Edge Ventures
As a serial entrepreneur, Don has worked with the best minds in education to create innovative products & services and build businesses for over 25 years.
He started his career at McKinsey & Co and became a thought-leader in Interactive Media, making digital media strategy recommendations to the likes of IBM, Sony, Apple, AT&T, Cox Cable, Viacom, Disney and more. He left to join one of his clients, Disney, to help lead the newly formed Disney Education initiative. At Disney, he worked with the Imagineers and experts from Harvard, Stanford and other leading institutions to create a distinctly Disney approach to teaching and learning.
He went on to found Parent Partners, an internet start-up focused on early learning and acquired by the Washington Post/Kaplan after reaching a 100,000 subscribers within 3 years, before continuing on to lead Herb Allen's Global Education Network. He founded A-Ha! Learning, a 6,000 sq. ft. parenting center on the Upper East Side of New York City that provided innovative hands-on classes for parents and their kids. Eebee's Adventures, a line of media, toys, and books targeted at children age 0 to 3, created consumer packages out of the A-Ha! experiences and penetrated TV broadcast, cable video on demand, consumer retail channels. After placing Eebee in more than 80 million households with over 12 million episodes viewed, Don created Learning Edge Ventures to continue creating innovation focused on educational technology.
A graduate of Duke University and Harvard Business School, he enjoys spending time with his own kids, playing with them on TinkerCAD and MakerBot, and encouraging them to find and pursue their passions.
